Parent Educator Program

Who Is welcome to enroll?
All families with children ages prenatal up to 5 years old who live within the CCSD school district.
 
*Family Connections
The meetings are twice a month for all families with children ages 0 months up to 5 years old. The family connection consists of a playtime, parent activity, lunch, story time, and ending with a parent-child activity.
 
*Personal Visits
Monthly visits for children ages prenatal up to 50 months. During this time a Parent Educator will guide parents to understand their child’s developments and help prepare them for Preschool/ Kindergarten.
 
*Screenings
Monthly screenings for children ages 1 month up to 5 years old using the Ages and Stages screening tool.
 
*Resource Network
Families needing information on any resources in the community will be referred or introduced.

Parents as Teachers Mission

To provide appropriate information, support, and encouragement parents need to help their child develop optimally during the crucial first five years of life.

Program 1: Personal Visits

Parents as Teachers provides services and support through home visits for prenatal parents and families of children birth to 60 months, who have or who are at risk for developmental delays or disabilities. During this time a Parent Educator will guide parents to understand their child’s developments and help prepare them for Preschool/ Kindergarten.

Program 2: Family Connections

The meetings are weekly for all families with children ages 0 months to 5 years old.  The family connection consists of playtime, lunch, story time and ending with a parent-child activity.
